Well, Melissa this is mostly for you...
Leslie and I got up early and surprised my dad by going to sacrament meeting with him. Dad is so into his schedule that they sit in the same row on the same bench every week. It just happens to be a smaller bench and they had someone sitting with them when we got there so we were quite squished with 5 adults on one small bench, but it was a funny meeting. The young girl that spoke said something about being stubborn, but she prefers to call it "steadfast and immovable" i am so using that one someday! haha...
After church Lauren and Garn came over and the missionaries for a big father's day feast! It was almost like thanksgiving we had so much food! The elders right now are in a trio so they are actually covering my ward and my parents ward (as well as 4 others! Guess that goes to show the shortage of missionaries worldwide right now!) After they left we surprised dad with a big birthday and fathers day gift combined. We bought him a Nintendo Wii! We have been playing all night, and what fun we have had! Dad was so excited--like a little kid!! We took pictures to prove it... (Dad actually smiling?? This is a rare moment!!)
When smiling goes overboard... wow there dad, you're starting to scare us a little!
We also gathered together to show dad some love from his girls...

Overall it was a nice day of celebrating dad! Can't believe in a few days he will be 55! Hearing him talk about retirement is a little weird. I know we give him a hard time about his old man dance, his obsession with food, and his (sometimes overbearing) scheduling of activities and routine from week to week, But, we do love our daddy, and hope he had a great day!
